Celebrity Cake Decorating Contest, So Much Fun!

The Celebrity Cake decorating contest was a blast today! I met up with Judy (Parable) from the board, her and her husband were super nice! We missed all those who couldn't come .... the contest will air on GAC on Aug 15th .... I have photos I will upload soon if anyone is interestedin seeing them, we got our photo taken with bronwen webber WOOHOO, oh yeah and the country singers were there LOL. I don't want to spoil it and tell you all who made what or who won unless you really want to know or can't watch the show .... but I do have photos unpon request 
andI know Judy will as well, her and her husband are headingback home to FL tomorrow.

oh yes and Judy and I shoudl be on TV too if you watch!! when they shot the audience watching the competition they set the lights in our area and filmed our secion and we were in teh second row!
I got to go today too! I was so giddy seeing all those decorators. 
i got a pic with martin and bronwen. SOOOOOO much fun! were u in there the entire time amandapanda? wish i could go to the pastry competition too. all the chocolate booths sure looked good!
oh I wish I had known you were going! We could have met! The pastry thing did look awsome! we saw some of the classrooms set up and they had some AMAZING sugar sculptures!! I went to the amaretti booth and they were giving out the boxes with like 18 different 2oz samples, it looks awsome! I can't wait to try it out!

I got my photo with bronwen andI swear I was like 8 inches taller than her lol, I am 5'10 and she is ... on maybe 5'2? She was so funny, I asked her if I needed to bend down to takethe picand she tried to tip toe to my height ... she is a great sport.

you got some great pics, amanda. i had to rush out of there to come home so i missed the sugar sculptures. those are neat! good thing u took photos of them. so did u get the amaretti samples? i saw guittard had bowls full of chocolate samples for tomorrow. YUM!
Those pictures were great! It looked like a lot of fun! 
You know you're addicted when you are busy looking at the decorators and the cakes, and forget all about the country music stars! And I love Country music! lol. Anyway, thanks so much for sharing, and I'll be sure to write the date for the show on my calendar.

I went too! Got to sit on THE FRONT ROW in FRONT of Bronwen's kitchen! Had my pic made with Martin, Norman AND Bronwen, but, my friend's camera skills are really not great and Martin's and Norman's didn't come out AT ALL! I was really disappointed but, she felt sooo bad, I just told her it was okay!
I'm glad to get the date because I didn't actually know when it was going to air!
Weren't all the cakes soooo good! Well, SOME better than others, huh? LOL

thanks for sharing, I was SUPPOSED to go but my little man got sick a couple weeks back it used up all of my resources for taking care of DD so I couldn't

Beth .... We were RIGHT BEHIND YOU! lol ... we sat in the second row right in front of Bronwen!
I was there also!!! My DD went with me and we had a great time. We were on the third row in front of Norman's booth. I glad you knew the airing date, I never heard that. I also missed the sculptures in the back. Silly me, I didn't even realize they were setting up stuff like that back there. 
I did get a lot of pictures but I haven't had a chance to download them yet. It was 10:30 when I got home last night and had to come to work this morning. It's too bad we didn't all know each other by looks we could have all introduced ourselves.
the sculptures weren't in the back ... they were actually in another hall of the hotel, in one of the rooms that they were going to be doing the international pastry classes in. I just peeked myhead in and asked the guy if I could take a picture of his sculptures.
and to answer the question before ... yesI did get samples of the amoretti! I am so excited, I am going to bake a cake today and try one of their extracts.
OMG...Looking at those picts really made you feel like you was right there! You got some really good picts, Im soooo super jealous of you, well all of yall who got to go! So whats the Atmospere like in there while they are doing all of this? Is it just like the shows on TV or what?? Man, I would have sooo loved to go! But, Im ok with looking at the great picts instead! Even tho it was a Pain In the Butt to post them...lol Thanks for doing so! They are great!

Amanda, we got back late last night so I still haven't got my pictures organized. Your pictures are great. I'll get mine loaded soon. Guess I'll have to register with shutterbug, too. Randy and I really enjoyed meeting you and Julie.
Beth, that is sooo funny that we were right behind you. Guess one of us should have yelled-out "CC" to see who looked! Maybe Keegan would have asked about it too! LOL Then maybe we all could have been the next discoveries.
I did get to tell Bronwen about "Cake Central" and told her she should come visit sometime to chat with a bunch of fans. Who knows?!?
This competition was so much fun and so relaxed. We were able to chat briefly with the decorators and music celebrities while they worked and afterwards. And get close to the cakes to see all the details. The Nashville News (Channel 2) that night showed some of the competition and said the cakes would be on show for the next week at the Opryland Resort.
