Wilton Course 3 Final Cake Ideas

Hi I will be done with my Wilton classes next Monday and my awesome instructor said we could do anything we wanted as long as it was tiered or stacked. It didn't even have to be a wedding cake but I want to make a wedding cake and wanted some ideas at what I should try. Nice, impressive something that looks like it took at a lot of effort but didn't , but keeping in mind the fact that I am not very experienced so my options are kind of narrowed down. I also would like to use the 10", 8" & 6" round pans. Any photos of your collection welcome!
Here's the cake I did for my Course III final. The afternoon before my final class, I still hadn't made any of the fondant roses or royal flowers that we were supposed to use, so I went to Michael's and (with my 40% off coupon, of course) bought the new Wilton Tiered Cakes book for inspiration.
This looked like one of the simpler designs, and something I could pull off in a few hours the night before, but still impressive.
The first picture is of the finished cake, and the second pic is of the fondant plaque I added to cover up where the wires went into the top of the cake. I used a piece of the hidden pillar pushed into the cake for the wires to go into, so they would be isolated from the cake that people would eat. I don't have a good picture of it all together, though. ![]()
I took it into my kids' school, just happened that one of the teachers I really like had a birthday the next day, so I made it his birthday cake! Everybody loved it!
