Hello
For the High Humidity Buttercream frosting, can I use the sweetex instead of the crisco? Also how long can the sweetex last? Does it have to be refrigerated? Thanks to all.

I use Sweetex high ratio shortening all the time. It's designed to hold up well in warm weather. It doesn't need refrigeration any more than crisco. All shortenings can go bad/rancid over time, but most have a shelf life of at least 1 year.

You can use hi-ratio instead of Crisco. icon_smile.gif

CakemanOh recommends 1 cup of hi-ratio to 7 cups of powdered sugar. But no more than 2/3 cup hi-ratio to 1 cup Crisco if altering Crisco recipes.
