Kinda a follow on from my sticky situation...

anyways made a banana cake for work as asked too and morning tea was this morning and lots of people commented on the cake and how cool it looked. Those that didnt comment you could see they were pissy at me like im greasing up or something... well they REFUSED to eat the cake because 1) i made it and/or 2) it wasnt store bought!
They said it kinda infront of me too!

How gutted do i feel right now!

There was a guy a few months ago at work who i thought was semi decent and he had a thing for me. He got pissed at me because i wasnt ready for a relationship and also he was leaving to go overseas in like 6 months and i didnt want him not to go and i wasnt wanting to go. Since then hes been a right royal jerk to me. He was the first one who made a comment and said no and a few others followed like puppy dogs....
Ingreatfull asses!!!!!!!!

Other people had commented that it was the best banana cake they have tasted

Its alsways the bad comments that get you down icon_sad.gif

Don't take it personally. You know how good your cake is. You're not in gradeschool, and don't need to respond to their behavior. Just brush it off like you never heard them, and do what I would do- kill them with kindness. They are only judging you because of what one person said, and if you show them you are different, they will probably change their minds. Hope it goes better for you next time! icon_smile.gif

inhale and then exhale, as long as you were satisfied with your cake thats all that matters. They sound like they are very envy and jealous people. So don't mind them. As I will always say, they will be alright. Kepp up the good work.

foxymomma521, I love you! That is the exact same thing my grandmother always said to me oh, so many years ago, "Kill them with kindness". The thing to always remember is there are good people in life and there are people who have just not figured out that they should be nice. Rise above the pettiness and do good in your life, and you will have nothing to worry about! Only YOU can let someone hurt you. Don't give them that power over you. Love yourself, and have sweet cake dreams!

Yes, and just be happy that you didnt have a relationship with him because he doesnt sound like he's a nice person to begin with and your better off without him and his cronies!

Thanks guys,
Just walked into the lunchroom now and 2 people complimented me on the cake again and he was in there.
One lady said my baking was ALWAYS the best. He kinda looked at me had a huge sigh and moved out of my way. I was like thanks im just trying to do my best icon_smile.gif

There are about 4 compeditive people in our office when it comes to baking... ones a qualified chef, ones a stubborn girl and the others are generally ok, just try hard when we have bake offs.

The stubborn girl yells if you dont eat her baking icon_confused.gif

OTNIC, you made the cake for no particular reason? ... just something to take to work for the coworkers to enjoy? That's kind of you and everybody should enjoy it ... but I don't understand that you said you have bake-offs. What are those for?

Hi Linda,
My work asked me to make the cakes each month for our morning tea seeing as im always making them for peoples birthdays and that it wasnt fair i didnt get paid for it. I didnt mind but they told me that i had to get paid otherwise we would all be breaking the rules.
i could not believe their attitudes towards me and am really pissed at them. They just wait till its their birthday and see what happens when I ignore them! LOL!

Bake offs are where a few people bake something and bring it in for morning tea.
Bascially its a competition to see who can bake the best. Also collect recipes if the person will share.

One girl if she doesnt win she hates you from then on... Shes very quikly loosin support at work and some people bend over backwards to be on her good side and just wont do things like the bake offs anymore.

Im feeling better about it now. People kept saying now nice it was and thats made me feel better icon_smile.gif

Just wait till next month when i make something bigger n better lol
