do you mean grand piano style???

at this site (scroll way down) is a template of the shape of a grand piano.

http://www.hrovatmusic.com/buying_guide_1.htm

as well as measurements for the other sizes.

if good w/ math, can scale that to a cake.

most make it two layers:

bottom layers has the keyboard.
top layer is shorter by the depth of the keyboard.

cut cakeboard to shape, add legs to hold it up.

top is piece of cakeboard cut to shape, covered in gumpaste or fondant and then propped up w/ skewer or dowel.

this template is based on a 12x18 sheet cut.

I have a photo of a 3-tiered grand piano cake on my website. (I haven't figured out how to attach a photo to a post, sorry!) I cut the boards to fit the cakes, and used push in pillars for the legs. The bottom set of legs were attached to the base board by attaching long screws from the underside of the board. I then used foam tape to bulk the screws up so the push in pillars/legs fit very tightly over them, and don't move! Each of the boards had feet (cut from an old plastic separator plate) glued to them where they needed to sit on the corresponding pillar/leg.

Hope this helps!
