Hi everyone. Can anyone tell me the best way to figure out pricing when selling a cake. How about the whimsical cakes too? I'm just starting and I'm not sure how to go about pricing? Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

there are tons and tons of threads on pricing. what they all boil down to is this: do market research in your area.

find out what other bakers in your area are charging and what their quality is. find out what your expenses will be. and i mean get as exact as you can. make a personal pricing matrix on what your ingredients cost you and how much you use of each in your recipes. its a lot of work, but no one can just tell you what to charge. also, find out what you need to do to become legal. i know a lot of people aren't, but i do feel its important, and you'll feel better knowing you can freely advertise and don't have to hide from the gov.
