My daughter recently went back to school and I need a new hobby. Any suggestions for a good and cute beginners cake?

Take the Wilton classes you learn so much there I did not know anything about icing a cake and I am still learning and the classes are very informative. Get ready to spend some serious money!!

I would suggest Wilton Courses as well. If you have a friend and a Michaels Crafts nearby they are having a special Bring a friend for free in September. October is buy the kit and get the class for free and November and dec are 1/2 price. These are so great specails to start your new hobby.

Definitely take the Wilton classes at Michaels! I am currently in the middle of course 2 and I absolutiely love it! By taking the courses you will get the basics in a fun class atmosphere and you will be able to determine if this is really for you before investing in a lot of stuff. Enjoy!

Thank you for the advice on getting started! I truely appreciate people who take a moment of their time to help others! I will definately look into the Wilton courses! I definately don't want to start empting my wallet until I've got some basics!

If you aren't able to get into a class right away...I would suggest:

Buying their yearbook along with the supplies for the first class. (you get a discount if this is done after you sign up for a class, a 10% one I think).
The middle section of the yearbook has a whole bunch of tips...not to mention the course 1 manual. You might try playing around a little bit.

Good luck and I hope you have fun icon_biggrin.gif
