Try sending a pm to Lisa and MrsMissey. I think both of them do quite a bit with edible images and they might be able to offer advice.

I havne't worked with edible images, but I've had that problem before with regular printing. It means you only have the magenta (red) ink left- you are out of yellow and blue. If you replace the cartridge(s) that should fix your problem. Hope this helps!

It looks like you are out of ink. I know that my copier prints in pink when low in ink.

You may

1) have run out of ink

or

2) have clogged cartridges.

Do you have a cleaning cartridge? If not, use a cotton swab and some alcohol to gently clean the cartridges where the ink comes out.

This has happened to me once before, so I just printed the image in b/w...in your case, pink and white, and then I handpainted it with food colorings. I guess if it's a photo of a person you won't be able to do that, but if it's a cartoon you can.

BTW..Lisa is the edible images expert....try pm'ing her....

If that doesn't work, I know the Wal-Mart bakery here does them 4 to a sheet for about $5.

Try doing a cleaning and then check on regular paper first before you use a edible sheet.

Okay, cleaned it twice (have a cleaning kit) and now the color is a little bit better - still pinkish and it's printing lines across the whole thing! icon_cry.gificon_cry.gif

I don't know what else to do, I live in a small town and the closest walmart is 1.5 hours from here and the cake has to be delivered by 2:00. I'm trying to print the 6 Disney princesses.

What else to do???? besides cry!

If your ink cartridges are full...take your iron...turn on the steam setting and steam the cartridges. Best way to unclog to ports. Should print fine afterwards.

But...when you are getting pink...generally means you are out of a color.

Thanks everyone for your help!

I let the printer sit (actually I just sat here wondering what was I going to do!) for a bit after I had cleaned the head and it worked fine. The color magneta is low (all of the pink printing I'm guessing) but all the other inks are full. I still don't understand it but it worked and made me very happy!

Thanks again! icon_biggrin.gif
