Does Wilton make different kinds of fondant? My family has been in the process of moving this past week so needless to say, I ran out of time after packing, moving and baking 350 cookies in addition to the wedding cake. I bought the Wilton Fondant from Hobby Lobby since it was only the bride and groom eating the cake and no one else, the rest was dummy cake. I tasted the fondant and I liked it better than the MMF I make. Do they make different kinds or do I need my tastebuds checked??
As far as I know, Wilton makes only one kind of fondant. I use it all the time, but only for accent or trim on cakes, and my friends like it. I don't think it tastes bad, but I guess I'm not a connoisseur of fondant ![]()

I can say the following. I don't like Wilton fondant but I like it better than MMF. MMf is WAY to sweet for everyone in my family that has tried it by the time it is put with my buttercream icing.
I tried Satin Ice for a cake I did today and I got a lot of "It isn't bad, it is just really sweet and I need a gallon of milk to eat it with the cake" which I was surprised so many people liked it. I did only put it on at about 1/8" thick b/c I think that is about as thick as I can handle it.
To me Wilton fondant doesn't have much of a taste, but I have never thought it tasted bad. And my SIL loves it. I say to each their own.
I think alot of people get turned off Wilton's before they try it because they hear it tastes bad. I also think alot of people say fondant tastes bad, when it is really the texture of it they don't like.
