Okay so I'm really excited that I have my first order for a paid cake! I'm a server at the Olive Garden and have been taking my class cakes into work with me because my household is sick of cake! So one of our bussers' son is being baptised and they would like to order a cake similar to the present cake I brought in. So far, so good. The only issue is that they have a really odd request for filling. The person ordering the cake is is Mexican and speaks really good english, but as we were discussing cake flavors and fillings, he requested white cake with peaches and peanuts as a filling?????? I asked several times to make sure I understood correctly, and even drew a picture of a peanut to make sure we were on the same page icon_smile.gif Sounds strange to me, but if that's what he wants, that's what he shall have! I'm taking a small sample of this for him to taste before the event, just to make sure.

So question is, does anyone have any ideas of how to make these flavors meld? I can see peaches and almonds, maybe, but peanuts seem strange to me. Is this a normal flavor that seems off to me? Any feedback is appreciated! Sorry so long!

Thanks in advance,
Diana

I've never heard of such a thing, but did a google search and came up with this recipe:

Maybe it will help.

Hmmm....interesting. Apparently someone likes the flavors together! Thanks for your help! I would appreciate any other input as well.

A pistashio make slightly more sense to me... also looks like a peanut?

Pecans make more sense but don't look like a peanut....

I just googled "peach peanut mexican cake" and didn't get anything really.

I wish I could help more!

I would just ask for more specifics like peanuts in the filling??
I googled peanuts and peaches and there were recipes made with both. Such as a sandwhich with peanut butter and peaches!

czyadgrl, I drew a picture of the peanut in the shell, so I think my picture would easily be related to a peanut....lol maybe I'm overestimating my peanut drawing skills. Pecans do sound good, and I can also see maybe using almonds with it. But peaches....hmmmm....

Moydear77, I asked if he wanted a peach cake with peanutbutter filling, and he said "no, like cut up peaches inbetween the cakes, and chopped cut up peanuts." LOL....interesting.

I think for the "tasting" I will bring him what he asked for, as well as a white cake with a little of his filling and maybe also some of my own creation, I'm thinking peaches and almonds, and he can choose what he likes.

Thank you moydear77. Maybe after I try it I will find that I like it, strange as it sounds!
