I was asked to do an Asian themed cake- client wants a red cake with a dragon ... OK!
I decided (so far) to do a round ( fondant) tiered with a gold dragon going up to the top tier. So, I goggled looking for dragon sketches- these guys are very detailed w/ scales etc... yikes! looks this one is going to be a dozzie ![]()

I was thinking of using gold painted fondant but , how do I get a realistic dragon and one that would stay put ??? I need help ( AGAIN)
Does anyone have any ideas on how to make this dragon??? pleaseee! ![]()

I would probably make a long rope and wrap it around the tier, then use something like a decorating tip or other tool to indent scales in it's body. Then add the legs and model a head. Debbie Browns books have some good info for modeling dragon heads.
Good luck!

I would do the same as Courtney suggested, here is a pic of the dragon from Debbie Brown´s Book: Magical Cakes

I hope you find the answer. I already replied on the other site. I can't wait to see how your cake turns out!!
