Please Help!!!! Anyone Used Topsy Turvy Pans?

Just got back from ICES and they seemed to have a few of these pans there - I was wondering if anyone else had bought them and if they were working out well. I'm not sure I understand how they stack either - especially how you dowel them to stack. I also heard some people say they didn't look like they were made very well...... I'd really love to hear opinions on these from anyone who's used them. They seem a LOT simpler than the directions on here - those directions for me were so hard to follow! And then when you cut the cake, you were cutting into the layer below it b/c you had the top tier "sunken" into the tier below it - so it was weird. And I had a lot of trouble with the smaller size pan on the bottom and then building up to get that weird "upside down cone" shape thing. I like the idea of the pans a lot.
