Is there a stand out in coloring or are they all about the same. I am going to need a good strong red. I naturally just bought the wilton brand because of the class I took but I would like to know if there is anything better.

Americolor, definitely!

You don't get that bitter taste and don't need as much.

Definately Americolor!! It's colors are very vibrant and you don't need as much to get good color (as mac said). And you can buy it right here at CC for less than I paid yesterday at a local cake supply shop!!!! icon_redface.gif Good luck!!

As everyone else has mentioned...Americolor. I know from recent experience. I was trying to make some cookies shaped like apples and with the Wilton brand it was just turning a hot pink after I used the whole jar. I ordered super red and super black (because black is also difficult to achieve with wilton). and the red turned out beautiful. I am going to start replacing all of my wilton colors with americolor brand.

I ordered 13 colors and it was less than $20.00 with the shipping, not bad. I can't wait to try them.
