Please......Calling all Topsy Turvy experts.......I need help!!! I am going to do a Topsy Turvy cake for my husband's 34th Birthday! I've not done one of these. Also, can you use a cake mix for this type of cake, or do you have to use like a pound cake batter? I would really appreciate any response to this!!! If you'd like to pm me, I'd be forever greatful!!!!!

Please see the tutorial on CC. It's very good! Also, I would use a pound cake recipe or a denser cake as it will hold up better. Good luck and don't forget to post your pics!

I have found that when it comes to angle cutting your cake, its easier to angle the cake, then cut level. What I did was I bought a tilting cake stand and used it. It was much easier than trying to guess at what is 15 or 45 degrees to cut. I angled the cake itself, then cut straight across.

I've done a couple & here's a link to the method I used:

It's very easy to do this way & lots of fun. Just be sure to dowel properly.
When I made mine I used cake mixes & the ehanced cake formula from this sites recipe section. Worked for me both times with no problems.
