Can I place fondant over refridgerated cakes? Or do they need to be at room temp?

Thanks!

New here. Hi everone!

Oh one more question. I used the crisco frosting recipe. Is it ok to use that under the fondant? I didn't want to use butter.

Yes - you can place over refridgerated cakes and yes you can place over crisco BC. Have fun making it.

I prefer placing fondant on slightly chilled cakes as it is easier to smooth with a firmer base underneath.

Welcome to CC!

You shouldn't have problems with either of those things. Happy cake decoratingicon_smile.gif

uh oh! I also made a buttercream with butter, to go in between the banana cake layers. But a little while after I left it out on the counter to get it spreadable, it started to get watery spots! Is there anything I can do to save it?
