Anyone Use The White Chocolate Paste Recipe?
Decorating By Rambo Updated 20 Aug 2006 , 5:25pm by Fascination
Made up a batch of the white chocolate paste from this site, last night. I added a little cheesecake candy flavor to it and it smells wonderful and tastes even better.
I'm going to try it out for accents on my cake but was wondering if anyone out there has ever used it? It seems a little softer than fondant (as of yet I have only used Wilton) Also I have way more than I'm going to use today so that brings up the question of storage... Howlong? Double wrapped? Freezer, fridge, or countertop?
Any hints or tips that may be helpful?![]()
hello Rambo
I have made white chocolate paste, using Merkens white chocolate candy melts.
I found it easy to make, easy to work with & like you said delicious to eat.
I love making roses with it & find I can easily shape leaves.
I try not to make too much at a time, so I don't usually have any left. But, one time, I did have some left, I double wrapped it , placed it in a plastic container & put it in a cool place (not the fridge) and forgot about it.
It was about a month later when I came across it; it had harded quite a bit & did not really taste good. I was thinking of trying to store it in the fridge and freeze next time I make some as a test. (so I can make bigger batches in the future & not worry about leftovers or spoilage. )
Sorry... it does not sound very helpful, but that's about all I can offer ...
ciao
Thanks for answering. My DH took over the computer and I ended up winging it. Worked pretty well for cut outs. I guess I will just experiment with the left overs, maybe leave some wrapped on the counter, some in the fridge and some in the freezer and taste test in a couple weeks to see what happens. Thanks again for the reply.
Hello again;
yes to use for cutouts, it is great. and I have actually rolled it thin & covered a cake with it too.
I also used it to make shapes by pressint it in chocolate molds (like small fruits, little angels, carrots, etc)
Let me know how the experiment goes.
ciao
