Hey, Y'all! icon_smile.gif

I'm needing to do a groom's cake in the topsy turvy pan set, for Sept. 16, but I don't know where to buy them, or what they're really called!

Are they called "topsy turvy pan set?" Or "mad hatter pan set?"

Can any of my CC buddies out there tell me where to find these pans? My cake supply shops don't sell them. icon_cry.gificon_cry.gif

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks, Y'all!

Thanks, but that pan is a flat pan. I need the ones like in this picture:

http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=coppermine&file=displayimage&meta=search&search=topsy%20turvy%20cake&cat=0&pos=13&search=topsy%20turvy%20cake

Anyone know where to buy this pan set? Or about how much it costs?

Thanks,

Are you talking about the odd size pans used in the tutorial? You can do it with the same size pans.
Say 10 inch on bottom, 6 inch in the middle and 2 or 3 inch on top.....You need at least 3 inch difference in pan sizes between the tiers. If you want the tiers to be tapered, you can carve your cake down if you don't have all of the pan sizes.

Does that help???

knoxcop-

The cake you posted is not made in any certain pan. It is a technique whereby the cakes are stacked unevenly.

Cake central has a tutorial on this.

I don't know if there is a cake pan, but I remember reading articles/tutorials here on how to do this.

here's the one I was remembering:

Not sure if this is what you're looking for at all, but hopefully it helps some!

knoxcop1-

THere was a company at ICES that sold a "Topsy Turvy" cake pan set. I think the entire set (3) was $129.00. I don't remember the name of the company but I will look back in my ICES stuff and see if I can find it.

BTW--the metal was a little thin looking that was why I didn't look at them too long. The bottom of the pan was slanted but it had a "kickstand" to eep the pan level.
