I had this wonderful passionfruit buttercake at a cafe and so i thot i'd buy some passionfruit extract and put a bit in a vanilla cupcake receipe. it tasted odd!! yikes! i tested it on 6 cupcakes - 1/8 teaspoon of the extract into the batter. it had an almost metallic after taste ![]()
anyone had success in using passionfruit extract in their cake batter?

I'm not sure if she uses the extract, but I know Antonia74 makes a passionfruit buttercream that sounds divine. You may want to ask her.
