if i want gold and i am using luster dust do i color the fondant yellow or something as a base color? my guess is yes but i'd figure i'd ask before i waste any materials on my assumption because we all know what happens when you assume.

I it's for a large piece of fondant (like covering the whole cake), I'll tint the fondant a golden yellow before using the gold luster dust. If it's for an accent piece, I don't bother. icon_smile.gif

You can use white or slightly yellow fondant and use gold luster dust to paint.
