Hi! I was wondering if there was anybody out there from the Montreal area who knows a good but inexpensive caterer? I am getting married in May and am trying to find one (so far the best choice is in Cornwall, but does travel here for events).
And go figure...I'm not having a wedding cake!! icon_redface.gif My future father-in-law is well known in the family for his pies so we decided to ask him to make our "wedding pie". It was our way of getting him involved..we know he'll love it! Plus, I get to make my engagement cake! (1 more week!)
So any ideas for caterers in Mtl?? Thanks!

Sorry! I'm nowhere near Canada. Just wanted to say Congratulations on your happy event. Hope you find what you need for your special day and be sure to post pix of your engagement cake icon_biggrin.gif

Thank you! and I most definately will! I'm still in a learning phase (no courses available here) but I have lots of encouragement and taste testers!

nobody!? Am I the lone Montrealer? Impossible! icon_biggrin.gif Still having an unsure time selecting one. What does anyone think of having smoked meat/polish sausage/fries and coleslaw (my fiance does IT work for a popular Mtl deli) at a wedding? It was an idea we tossed around...but we think it's a little to "informal" for a wedding. Opinions?

Hi there! It's me, Lynda again icon_razz.gif I'm here in Texas. In San Antonio, that food sounds like par for the course at lots of weddings! If that's what you want, you should have it. Tell them your doing it Texas style! icon_biggrin.gif I even saw a wedding on food network with one of the big pastry guys (can't remember his name icon_redface.gif ) but his bride was from Tx and they had barbeque and even let the guests dress down and western for the reception! Good luck with whatever you choose and I do believe there is no right and wrong--It's YOUR wedding thumbs_up.gif
