If it's in the same thread, click on the quote button on the upper right side of the persons post you wanted to quote. Do this instead of clicking on "Post Reply". It will open a new screen with the entire post quoted, then you can type what you want to say.

I may be putting this in the wrong forum but how do I quote someone in a forum then add my comments below? I keep trying and can't seem to do it. Thanks!

see the "QUOTE" button???
click it!
and the system will automatically open a posting window, with their comments already in it properly formatted.
and....
if you want to learn to do it all on your own:
format is:
{quote="name of person"]what you want to quote, yadah, yadah[/quote}
the "" around the name are required AND replace the front { with a [ and the back } with a ] (for explanation purposes had to replace the square brackets with curlicue brackets so auto format wouldn't kick in.

Oh thank you for this! i have never been able to figure it out either. i usually do a "dfkadfhohfsh" then say what i have to say.
OHG, I am so embarrassed! I never even noticed the quote button in the upper right hand corner of a posting

Wow thanks all I was wondering how you all did this too. I learn something new everyday on here, not only do we have to figure out cakes, but sheesh computers too!!!!
