Want to take full advantage of the 50% off coupon this week at Hobby Lobby.

I bought the lion, strawberry shortcake, car pans(for my kiddo's birthdays in the future)--also bought the "fancy fil" cake pans, a few basic colors, color flow powder, merange powder.

I have to triangle for sides and some basic tips. I want to make the royal icing flowers for a future bapitsm cake so I am going to get a few more tips. Maybe a square pan(I have the basic brownie square pan from my wedding years ago--Baker;s Secret?).

Do I really NEED the silver collars? Silicone cupcake cups? cupcake stand?
Maybe get some more bags, couplers.

I may someday venture out to try making the MM fondant but for now I don't think I need the tools. Plus I think I have stuff around here to use.

I wish I could buy out the aisle but dh would come unglued!! This stuff is soooo addicting. I would love to open a buisiness but I have 3 kids under 4y--soooooo not possible now.

Any ideas? I have done some friend's cakes, and want to do more, BUT I really don't want to go overboard and never use things or just use them once or twice.

Ideas? I will go again tomarrow! I thought I would use my coupon and be done with a few items, but my store keeps giving me the coupons back so I can use them again--EVIL people!

I think one thing we tend to do is get caught up and buying everything that we see that we think is cute and that we might, maybe one day use. Problem is that we get into a buying freenzie then we don't always use what we buy. I have over 100 pans and I can promise you have not not used even half of them.

I love the sales, expeically when you can get a good deal on things. But even a good deal on things doesn't mean you will use it. And if you don't use it, even if you got a deal on it, it can still be wasted money. Really think about it before you buy it.

I think you are better off spending the money on things you know you will need and use. Things like extra bags, flavors, icing colors, tips, couplers, spatulas and so forth. What about cake boards and boxes?

Thanks! yeah i think i have enough character pans. Since this is a fun thing for me to do--mostly for home stuff, boxes and boards aren't real neccesry. 'couse I will need to transport the baptism cake to the restarant--glad you suggeted that.

I do totally agree that getting wrapped up and then wasting stuff isn't a deal. I think I will go get a few boxes/boards and a few extra bags/tips and be done with it. Maybe another $10-15 tops! Not like they won't run coupons ever again. Besides, I am not a pro so I don't need 45 star tips.
Thanks for "slowing down the $ flow"--dh will be happy.

IF I ever go pro---I will go wild! It's just soooo tempting!!!! icon_redface.gif

I like to have different shaped pans that I can do different things with...I know some character pans you can do more than one thing with but most of them are just that character that you are limited to. I bought the wonder mold pan and the football pan this time. Because I see sooooo many cakes made from those two pans they seem like a necessity to me.. icon_biggrin.gif I did tell DH that I spent $$$ at Hobby Lobby expecting a "WHAT"!!!!! But he said he did not care as long as the bills are paid and there is food on the table I can buy whatever I want... thumbs_up.gif He knows I am not a compulsive shopper so I think he knows it will be OK... icon_lol.gif
