HI

I would like to write on a cake with Disney's font and have seen it done by other people here, can anyone tell me how I might achieve this?

Thanks!

download disney font to your computer
print out message as big as needed
put under wax paper
trace in royal icing.
--tah dip: letters to place on cake

or if have access to light box could put paper under thin fondant and then use sharp exacto knife to cut out letters

or...could print out on overhead transparency plastic or card stock and cut out to make a stencil

start menu > control panel > fonts > file > install new font > (navigate to folder where stored and select) > OK

if it downloaded as a ZIP file you will have to unzip (decompress) it first.

That I think is what I've done.....I'll try my best to explain:

Downloaded and saved to desktop, extracted file, went to control panel, clicked on fonts, under File clicked on install a new font (this is the part that's tricky), a window pops up that says "Add Fonts" then it has a "list of fonts" with nothing listed on the right hand side it has OK, Close, Select All (which isn't highlighted) then Network that has a green border around it. On the left side of the "network" button it has Folders: c:\\windows and then a list of different folders and none say desktop or anything near what I'm looking for. Beside that is has a column for Drives and has listed a, d, c, and e. Confused yet? So, naturally I hit the network button (after all it does have the green highlighted around it) and it says: Windows can help you connect to a shared network folder and assign a drive letter to the connection so that you can access the folder using My Computer. It goes on to say:

Specify the drive letter for the connection and the folder you want to connect to: then it has a drop down menu for the drive letters which range from z-b and then the folder: (I've been typing the address in {C:\\Documents and Settings\\Tammy\\Desktop}but it is not working! says it cannot locate that file!!!!)

I don't know if any of this makes sense at all to you but I sure hope you can help! NO pressure LOL!

Thanks so much!

Tammy

hint one -- more file into MY Documents

then when first opens install files should be able to just scroll down the menu on left until you see my documents, open it and find file.

i actually have a file in My Documents just for font files I've downloaded.

I just have to tell you that I finally got the Disney font on my computer! (It only took 2 days of trying!) I copied it and pasted to the fonts under the control panel. Seems strange to me but it worked and I am so happy!
Just thought I might share.....I know, I'm a geek!! icon_biggrin.gif

I should have took a better one of the top of the cakes but I hope you can make it out. It does sort of look like disney font.

Thanks again for all of your help Doug!
