I just used MMF for the first time on my Shaq cake. It was easier to use than I thought it would be. Only advice I have is that I think it looks cool if you rub a bit of shortening on the fondant because it makes it shiny icon_smile.gif Here's my Shaq: http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-photo_707993.html
Oh yeah, and one more thing, use decorating gloves when you colour the fondant! People here advised me to use gloves and I didn't listen. My hands are still purple in places!

I've only used the MMF recipe a few times, but the best tip she gives not to be overlooked is GREASE, GREASE, GREASE your hands! I overlooked this the first time and was afraid to touch anything in the house including the faucet to get it off.

To each his own... icon_smile.gif

I primarily use corn starch when kneeding and rolling out. The only time I use Crisco is when I'm storing it. I rolll up the ball of MMF, cover in Crisco, then wrap in plastic wrap.

Good luck! thumbs_up.gif

TxAgGirl - thanks for the tip. I'll try the cornstarch next time as the crisco is thumbsdown.gif

my advice is not to get too stressed- its not as scary as you might think. I was so afraid my first time and I was surprised how simple it was and how good it turned out. You will do great thumbs_up.gif
