Another Pricing Question... Sorry!

i know alot of suggestions have been made as far as pricing goes(2x,3x your costs, hourly, per slice). i'm making a 3 teired, stacked cake for this weekend. it is for a friend whose neice is getting married short notice because of military reasons. she origanally wanted a cake for 60 people, very simple, white on white with blue ribbon, and red whimsy roses. she did want it to be layers so to have the wedding cake feel. i made a 12", 9", and 6" WASC cake. all double layers. i will use bc to frost it, the ribbon cost next to nothing and the roses were from 1 batch of MMF. i know i have much more cake than she asked for (was going for what would look best) so i feel funny charging per slice, and the cost really wasn't that much so to times by 2 or even 3 i think i maybe under charging. i know she will pay what ever i ask( she paid 75.00 for the "fat boy" cake in my photos- her doing!) does anyone have any ideas???
thanks for any help!
If she had wanted the cake for 60 and you are making more to make it look good, then could you maybe charge her somewhere between $150 and $200? Just a thought and at the very least a "bump" for you.... I remember reading your original post as well....

I just refered to the Wilton pricing chart that I have privy to and it states that you should be able to get $200. I didn't add anything to the chart other than the size cakes you are making. If you are adding any extras, such as fondant etc.. you can charge more. I know how hard it is to come up with a price for your work, because I'm always looking for advice too. Most of the time I undercharge and then tell myself, never again, but I fall into the same hole. Hope this helps some.

i estimate 87 servings from a 6, 9, 12 round cake. i would charge $2.5 per serving for basic BC. thats $217, then i would add $4 per fondant rose. depending on how many roses you had would effect your total. but thats how i would price it. since you made more cake than she asked for, you may want to discount since she's a friend. but i wouldn't go below $200 for sure.
