A bride and groom want the top layer of their cake to be cherry swirl cheesecake iced in buttercream.

Does anyone have a recipe for a cheesecake that you can ice in buttercream? I normally use mixes/doctored mixes for my cakes so this is a new one for me...

TIA!!

I use a cheesecake recipe from allrecipes, but I think any cheesecake recipe will work. I do a cake that is cheesecake for the first layer, raspberry filling and then WASC cake. I ice the whole thing in my cream cheese buttercream but here is the trick: you need to let the cheesecake come to room temperature which in turn makes it more unstable, before you try icing it or the condensation from the cheesecake can be challenging when you apply your icing. Personally, I let the cheesecake stay a bit cold but just until it's done "sweating", then it's not so hard to ice it! Good luck!
