I made a cream cheese frosting and added 1/2 tsp of almond exract- I have no idea why. Anyway, I hate the aftertaste that it has because of the almond extract. Is there anything I can do to counteract it? I'd hate to throw the frosting away.

Lesson learned.

Thanks.

perhaps if you add more cream cheese/icing sugar it would dicipate the taste of the almond?

I agree with buffim--the only thing I can think of is to add more cream cheese and sugar to see if the taste of the almond is less noticeable. I'm not sure there is a way to totally get rid of the almond flavor. I also don't like the after-taste of almond extract--never have. Hope everything works out.

Thanks... I went ahead and made a second batch without the flavoring and mixed the two batches together. The almond flavor is still there, but not so strong. In case I don't use this all right away, how long will the frosting keep in the refrigerator?
