I'm looking into entering the amateur decorated cake competition at the fair here. (Just fun I doubt I'd evn place except maybe last! icon_razz.gif ) But it says and I quote:

"Cake forms must be used for multiple layer cakes with the exception of the top layer which will be cut for tasting. Cakes display better for the duration of the Fair when forms are usedon the bottom layers."

So my question is what on earth is a cake form?

Hello
I believe they mean cake dummies (aka styrofoam).
The same type of fake cakes used during courses on cake decorating; They are white & come in different sizes & shapes; often used for display cakes.

ciao

The others are right. You will see alot of cakes made from the styro foam.I suppose your cake will be judged for flavor as well. Don't forget to let us see your entry. Good Luck.
