I think it's very cute!!
I don't know why you hate it, unless of coarse, you're your own worst critic....that wouldn't happen to any of us cakemakers, now would it?!?!
Great job!!
i think its cute. you could if you want to change it drizzle the colors from the onesie on the sides of the cake like a string confetti. but i think its great. that would add a little more color to the top and maybe thats why you're not happy with it.
What do you not like? I love it! What did you carve it out of? I would love to try on sometime!
OK...you're as crazy as the rest of us!
We are really our own worst critics! I worry every time I bring something to work and then I get there and people rave about what I made.
Your cake is wonderful! take it to work!
I think the cake looks great! I wouldn't change a thing. Your boss is going to love it!!!
Thanks for all of the kind coments. What I don't like most is that there are too many stripes. I really don't like the top most purple stripe and the tiny little leaves that look like spikes.

The top half is 2-9x13" yellow cakes stacked and carved, and the bottom half is 1-9x13" chocolate cake cut in half and stacked with the corners cut off for the legs.

Okay...you are certifiable! A stripe!?!? Take the cake to work and be proud!
I agree. It's great. Your co-workers will love it. It really is cute. I can see why you don't like it - it's not absolutely perfect. I had to look at it for several minutes to see that one arm is different but the leg openings, the snaps, the color and the flowers are perfect. Take it - Take it.
I almost didn't take a grooms cake to the wedding because I thought it was "good enough" and it turned out to be much nicer looking and much better tasting than the wedding cake.
Stop being so hard on yourself - you sound like some others on this site!!
That's sooo funny! I looked at the picture and my first thought was ---Oh, how cute, I love the stripes!
Add a top border and add "welcome baby" or something to it using the color of the stripe you hate ... maybe using the color again will balance it out ... if you think the color stands out too much ... I don't see it myself!
