I am doing a wedding this December. Instead of a wedding cake I will be doing cupcake trees. She wants cupcakes or balls that look like "snowball". Give me your ideas on how you would acheive this look. Would you do cupcakes or balls and how would you decorate. I have some ideas but would love your input. Thanks everyone!

2 mini-balls stuck together, covered in BC and then rolled in shredded coconut???

of course this would serve TWO people

-------------

or 1 mini-ball (actually 1/2 a ball), ditto on bc and coconut, resting on a large pale blue snowflake cookie (or pale blue plate/doily, etc.)

-what about coconut that has been through a processor just for a sec or 2?

- maybe white chocolate that has been finely shredded?

I would do cupcakes.

Oooh. That sounds interesting. I don't have any suggestions yet, but I'm sure others will have some amazing ideas. I can't wait to hear what people come up with. I got married on New Year's Eve (and it snowed just like I hoped). What a great idea for a winter wedding.

now why didn't I -- the chocoholic -- think of that?

YUM!

--------------

taking idea a bit further:

if bride will allow --

chocolate cake

white chocolate BC tinted the palest blue.

then covered wedding white chocolate shavings so bluish BC peeks through.

and then on the snowflake cookie.

I love getting others ideas, they are always so good. I am thinking cupcakes also since they are being used in these really awesome silver cupcake trees. I love the white chocolate and coconut ideas. Maybe a mixture of both? since some are bound to like one and not the other?

1/2 balls covered in bc stars and sprinkled with edible glitter. (Not everyone is a coconut fan)

White pearl dust or glitter for the snow. Pearl dust can be mixed with Everclear and lightly painted on BC. My Snowflake cake has pearl dust and glitter on it. Also, you could top the highest cupcake with an ice cream cone tree and add gold and silver dragees.

ok...

yep both even better idea.

and tho' I wouldn't do BC stars ....SO many > oh my achning hand.

then idea of several tints of edible glitter and dust blended and sprinkled all over would really make it pretty. (hint: can grind edible glitter to fine dust and still get subtle sparkle. I'd blend clear, w/ pearl dust and a tiny bit of very finely ground blue glitter)

snowflakes cookies most definately! I've seen cookies used as the serving plate too.
