i need to make a butterfly cake on saturday. I wanted ure opinion on how this would look. I will be using the wilton cake pan and cover the cake with lime green coloured sugarpaste, make the body on the butterfly a light shade of blue and on the wings make swirls either using buttercream or sugarpaste in rose pink and orange. I just love these colours and want to use them for the cake.

Do u think it will look very plain? I just thought since the colours r so bright i wouldnt want to do a complicated design.

I would appreciate ure opinion.

TIA

I think the colours sound great and yes I think your right, with such in your face colours you don't need to do a lot of decorating, I think maybe a touch of black will really make your colours stand out...gives them that wow effect

I just made a cake using these colours and added black...it really helped the colours jump out!!! The pic is in my album!!

cant wait to see your pic when your done!!1 icon_biggrin.gif

I think if it looks good, you can get away with any color for a butterfly. It will have a fantasy effect. I say go for it.

I agree. The colors sound fabulous and you could do almost anything w/ a butterfly unless they asked for a specific kind thumbs_up.gif Do it! and let us see pix when you're done icon_biggrin.gif
