Has anyone made a racetrack using Wilton's horseshoe cake pan? A friend of mine has asked me to make a racetrack for her son's birthday (he loves NASCAR). I was wondering if it would work to make two of the horseshoe-shaped cakes and put them together to make the track. I'm fairly new to cake decorating so I thought I'd bounce the idea off people in the forum because I'm so impressed with the cakes I've seen here. Thank you.

I never done that but I'm sure it'll work. I made a road once with that pan, I've put trees on the side, it was for a going-away cake. I'm giving you a bump so someone else can help you!

Have a great day

I have seen some where you take two rounds and trim a little from one (like a crescent) and push them together to make a "figure 8" type track. That would work! I am sure there are some in the gallery like that.

I have seen it done that way a few times, can't remember if it was on the wilton site or here in the galleries. It does work and it's really cute.

I found a picture of the one with the 2 round cake pans, I was going through old magazines for another reason today and found it. Looked it up and it's still on the website:

Incase you can't find the one with the horse shoe pan icon_smile.gif.
