They've been home so long this summer it's hard to remember what it was like last year when they went to school every day! icon_confused.gif

Until yesterday I was dreading the start of school next week. My 7 year old is walking on very thin ice.
At least I'll have my 3 year old at home.

That's what I say. icon_lol.gif I really have trouble believing that he behaves so well at school. When he started kindergarten we were really worried and even the vice principal was telling us how well behaved he was.

ummm, Doug I'd looove to feel sory for you and all the other teachers....but like my grandma told me when I complained about having kids...."you signed up for the job" icon_twisted.gificon_lol.gificon_confused.gif ....although I must say I used to feel for the kindergarten teacher...there is no way I would take a room full of 20 of my little heathens.....but now it definitely goes for those that have 20 of my mouth of the south hormonnal puberty hitting crackily voiced pain in the ass....I think they may be more crazy than I am for taking that job!!!

twinsline, my kids are dangerously close to not making it till sept.5. I'll have one in 1st grade and one in pre-k for a half day, the other 2 are with me. (but one less kid, means one less child the others will argue with during the day)

Mine don't go till Sept. I am already listed as a bad mommy, for raising a stink because they won't tell me what time my Kindergartener's day starts.

The school is so crowded they are staggering classes so she'll start at 8am or 9am depending on which teacher she got. My other kid starts Preschool at the other end of town at 9am. Rather impossible for me to get 2 kids to school at 9am at opposite ends of town (neither takes them early) so I need to know NOW if she is in the 9am class.... NOT 2 days before school starts! ARRGGHHH

My kids start school only on the 31st. But I can't wait!! You can tell that they can't wait either, They're constantly saying: I don't know what to do... I'm bored... usually when it's August they're bored. Sometimes I feel that 2 months off school is too much, and sometimes I don't.
I feel for the teacher though. Here, they have big class rooms of 30 kids. And some teachers get all the kids with problems in one class room. (autism, ADD and so on) and I know they don't have time to get one on one with kids anymore, so I'm worrying about my Dyslexic daugther. My oldest is starting high school this year that worries me also. The only child I'm not worrying about this year is my 8 y-o that goes in 3rd grade. that should be a breeze...

Is that even for elementary school? icon_eek.gif My second grader gets 2 certified teachers and no more than 25 kids in a room, normally it's under 20 a room. It's a public school.
I feel bad for your teachers too.

Wow... feel the love lol. My boys both go back on the 31st. I always scold the school that they get them too long and I don't get them enough! By the way, they are 13 and 16 hellions and I love to hang out with them. (as we say in this family... the fruit doesn't rot far from the tree)
