Hi! I will be making a cake for my parent's 40th wedding anniversary party in a couple of weeks, and I need a little bit of help. I am planning to use the Wilton Tailored Tiers set, and make three tiers (10, 8, and 6 inches). This will only be my second stacked construction cake, and I am a little nervous about it. Since the 40th is considered the ruby anniversary, I would love to use a beautiful red glass cake stand. Something like one of the two attached. I am worried though that the cake will not be stable since it will be stacked and have 3 tiers. I need some reassurance/advice from someone with more experience. Do you think this would be stable enough?

Thanks for any thoughts/help.

I really like the stand on the left, but the one on the right seems to look more sturdy. I'm sorry I don't have enough experience to answer your question, hopefully someone with more will answer soon.

But you're gonna build the cake on a regular drum or covered board and then place that on the stand, right?

Yes - I was planning to put it on something else and then put that on the stand. Thanks for the replies! Makes me feel better!
