How Do I Stack Cakes On Top Of Each Other.....????

........I have made a few cakes. And my most recent was a 3 tiered stacked cake. My bottom layer started to fold under the pressure. I need to know how to keep them from squishing eachother. My cake really started to lean towards the end of the day!!!

well you will need the dowels to keep the cake from squishing. check out some of the tutorials on how-to...

always use dowel rods under the top cake, a quick tip so that you don't ruin the bottom layer of icing by placing the top cake is to keep the dowels up an inch or so and let the weight of the top cake press the dowels into the bottom cake Hope that makes sense. Good luck

I have used both the wooden dowels and the plastic. I like the plastic for large cakes because they have a larger circumfrence. Also, they don't leave a woody taste in the cake. However, you will need some kind of saw to cut them. Plyers just won't work.

Definetly look at the tutorials. They will give you an idea for how many you need to use per layer.
