Can someone please assist with making Bluebonnets? I have one idea but wanted maybe other ideas? Please keep in mind that I am pretty new, so simplicity is best!

Thanks so much!!

Simple and abstract - you could just do round dot (rose tip would be better - one stroke - kinda like a bud but only the last stroke of the bud) of blue - shading from white at the top to dark at the bottom. The flower portion is just about 3 inches.

Check out this lady's website, she does beautiful bluebonnets.

http://www.omascakekitchen.homestead.com/website.html

I wrote her once & here are the instructions she sent me:

"First I put down the stem, then I use a rose tip...like you would do sweet peas only not upside down...does that make sense? I put the narrow part of the tip up, squeeze one time straight forward at the top of the stem then move down and squeeze one on each side of the single one, then another single one between the 2 on the sides, then another one on each side of that one and so on until I have the length I want. Then after the icing is dry (I use a crusting buttercream) I go back & put little star tip dots."

This has worked well for me, I use a violet/blue for the main flower & white for the star tips on the tops. I vary the leaves, depending on what I'm doing overall.

Good luck!
