Can I put fake sticks on my cake or are they considered toxic?

well I saw a cake on google that had some twigs on it. I think they were doing a dogwood theme....so like the one's you get from a craft shop

Those things aren't made with food-safe materials. I would not put them into the cake without protection, like a straw or flower pick.

i dont want to put them into the cake. was just thinking of decorating the cake board and perhaps laying some on the cake...I'm glad to know they aren't safe, so i won't make the mistake of stiking them in w/o protection.. thanks so much..
