I came down for a break from my "computer work" (code for goofing off on CC!) and found my 14 year old had made a batch of brownies from scratch! She says she won't even use the mixer when she makes 'em ... she mixes it by hand with a wooden spoon! (Man, I got a LOT of work to do with her!)

Except these were the best brownies I have ever eaten! She topped them with choc chips that were just melted and gooey on the top!

My biz brownies just got replaced by these! My heir-apparent is working out JUST fine!

You're so lucky. My daughter is 19, I wish I could get her interested in helping me out.

I think that's awsome! My daughter (age 1icon_cool.gif bakes 1 thing. Brownies. She uses my recipe (it doesn't require a mixer) for fudgy type brownies and she also adds chocolate chips to it. She goes around saying "I can't believe anyone would make brownies from a mix(referring to her friends). Scratch ones are soo easy!" Now mind you...this is the only thing she bakes!

My 13 yo's cookies rival mine these days. Most of the time I just put her to work baking the cookies so I can do the bread and play with cake! Her and her 10 yo sister have begun helping with dinner too. While that isn't quite as good at least I don't have to cook it! icon_biggrin.gif

Ah that is so cool, what a lucky lady you are!
Neither one of my daughters like to bake... and they are 24 and 30... the oldest made brownies yesterday for the first time ever, out of a box.. they were still good..but that's all I would get.
Now my granddaughter is hopefully going to be an up and coming baker..

Amazing how talented and intuitive the young are. I was making a cake for my a niece's communion and her 14 year old sister asked if she could help. Of course I couldn't refuse, but thought selfishly to myself "oh no, this cake isn't going to look good!" Was I wrong, the kid had never held a piping bag before. I did a quick demo on making the shell border and WOW - hers were better than mine! She piped the whole cake, added ideas to improve the theme, etc... We should all be this way and as I link her success to lack of fear of new things.
