Hi - I thought I saw a recipe for rolled chocolate chip cookies which would hold their cookie cutter shape. I searched for this and could not find it - maybe I'm going crazy icon_biggrin.gif ; if anyone has the recipe or link please do respond. Thanks much as I'm growing tired of sugar cookies, almond cookies and chocolate sugar cookies!

I used this recipe last night! They hold their shape wonderfully.

1 cup butter, softened
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
1 large egg yolk
2 1/2 cups flour
1 cup mini-chocolate chips

Cream together the two sugars, salt, and butter until fluffy (about 3 minutes on medium speed). Add the vanilla and egg yolk. Mix until smooth. Add flour, mixing until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips. Divide dough into halves or thirds. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate 30 minutes. On lightly floured surface, roll dough to 1/4" thickness and cut out your shapes, placing on parchment paper covered cookie sheets. Bake @ 350 degrees, 10-12 minutes or until golden.

Enjoy! These cookies taste good even without icing. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks GeminiRJ. These sound terrific - I'll whip up a batch over the weekend. I'm sure my family, and I, will appreciate your recipe.

This is the same recipe I used when I made them...had found it on this site as well. I thought the cookies were pretty good, but I was thinking they would taste a little better with a more butter flavor...I think I'm going to add butter flavored extract the next time. Also, they did hold their shape wonderfully but I'm not sure they would work in a bouquet?! Has anyone tried? Jodie

I think I would want these cookies thicker than 1/4" if using them in a bouquet. They seemed sturdy enough to use...I would suggest trying a few to see how they work before committing a lot of time and effort into a bouquet that was for something other than a trial.
