What about a gas meter? Are there such things? Or a FBCT of a gas man hiding behind a fence from a dog?

I can't help you with the ideas (I'm a scientist, not a creative person lol), but I just have to say.. You drive two hours back and forth to work every day?! Wow..

Since you don't have much time, how about a cookie cake? If you have a 12" pan, just get a roll of cookie dough from the store and you'll be set. icon_smile.gif Then you could just pipe something like We'll miss you or Good Luck.

Or...if he has a personality...a boot..ya know..."we are giving you the boot" (get out of here!)

I'm doing a FBCT for a similar situation at my sis's work. their co-worker is going back to school (embry-riddle), so i'm doing the FBCT of the logo, and writing good luck on in. thats all they wanted, something simple.
for a yummy cake, you can try a white cake. instead of using water, use orange juice and use some additional orange color to make it look orange. its really yummy, tastes like a creamsicle!

If you don't want a theme...what about a cake with ganache poured over the top, drizziling down the sides. And you can accent with chocolate covered strawberries.
