Maybe its just me but by not stopping the check out girl, I think that the author was equally responsible for the deed. I'm not saying that I havent been in a like situation before, but I didnt post it on an internet message board and brag about it. Sorry, just my $0.02

oopps..gotta reply again...i was not bragging when i posted this..i was excited..if for you that is bragging, i am sorry..but i was not..and maybe i deserved it for being a good and regular customer..maybe the owner gave the girl an authority to give additional discount, maybe not..one thing is only sure, she knows what she was doing and i did not force her..

No it doesnt, and I didnt say I was a better person but on the other hand, I didnt disclose that I didnt notice the error UNTIL I got home, but at least I rectified the error. Sorry, I didnt think I would need to go into a song and dance on MY end.

And by posting it here, I took it as bragging, as I'm sure others did to.

It was wrong, bottom line, and by baking a cake to "reward" her bad behaviour is wrong to.

But just my opinion

I personally am in no way trying to make anyone "feel bad" and I'm certainly not jealous of the discount......all I'm saying, as others are too, that the situation is not OK, and needs to be corrected.

For those of you that are so quick to jump on marj for what happened, remember that she DID question the clerk when she heard the total. What else was she supposed to do, refuse to buy the items and leave the store? I love CC because people are always so supportive and willing to help, but it seems like some are always quick to jump on people, too, just because they don't agree with something. I just think that things could be said a little less judgmentally. Like others have said, you don't know why/how the clerk did what she did. And who knows ... maybe the clerk is the store owner!!!!

I agree and at the request of CC members, I'm going to go ahead and lock the thread.
