I'm pretty new to cake decorating and this board--I just discovered it!

I am make 2 cakes for a 50th Wedding Anniversary. The party is this Saturday, she wants to pick up the cakes tomorrow (Weds!). The cakes are going to be a choc/raspberry and vanilla/strawberry with buttercream and royal icing flowers. She wanted Columbine flowers and I felt the royal icing turned out the best. Anyways, a few questions:

1. Will the cakes be OK? I've never had a cake done this "early" to sit. Will they be OK in the fridge?

2. Will the royal icing flowers "soften" and wilt?

I'm just concerned that she wants them so soon and they'll be horrible sitting around for a few days!

Thanks for your help!!

The grease in your buttercream will breakdown the royal icing.
