Is there a recipe out there for a cheescake filling? I'm making a cake for a friend and they love cheesecake and chocolate cake so I was wanting to make a chocolate cake with a cheesecake/cream cheese filling. Does anyone have anything? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks in advance!!!!! thumbs_up.gif

Here's a bump for ya- I wonder if it's possible to mix regular BC with the cheescake flavored pudding mix?!?!? Good luck!

I like to fold cheesecake pudding into some buttercream for a quick, easy filling. Maybe not exactly what you're looking for, but it would work in a pinch! I think it's pretty good. I'm sure someone out there has what you're looking for! Good luck, it sounds delicious!

So, do you actually make the pudding or just put the powder into the buttercream?

I've always wondered but never tried, what it would be like if I substituted a little of the powdered sugar for the pudding mix and then used milk instead of water.

My Wilton instructor suggested using those instant cheesecake mixes you buy in the pudding section at the grocery store. I've never tried it but I think if you let it semi set and then put in the middle it would be pretty good.

Someone posted this one today, which I pasted into my Word file. Sorry, but I can't give credit to the person because I didn't save the name. You can use this frosting to fill your cake.

Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting

½ c. butter
16 oz. cream cheese
8 oz. unsweetened chocolate, melted
½ c. cooled coffee
4 tsp. vanilla
6 c. powdered sugar

In a mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, cream the butter and cream cheese together until smooth. Drizzle in the melted chocolate and mix. Add the coffee and vanilla and mix. Add the sugar 1 cup at a time, mixing after each addition. Mix until well blended and fluffy.

A member here ge978 actually uses a layer of cake and a layer of cheesecake for her cakes so that might be something to think about trying.

I use a cream cheese that comes in a sleeve from a cake decorating store, & mix it with the buttercream. Everyone really likes it, & the sleeve is about $6. And the nice thing about it is, once it's on the cake, you don't have to refrigerate it. Good luck

Hi everyone! I'm the person who posted the frosting recipe lsawyer liked. It is extrememly tasty, but would not give you that cheesecake flavor you are looking for in a filling. It would however be a perfect icing for the entire cake after filling it with regular cheesecake. I have piped with it after giving it a few minutes in the frig to firm up.

When I was at the grocery this week, I came across tubs of ready made cheesecake filling by Philadelphia in the cream cheese section. I haven't tried it yet, but it sounds like it would be a good thing to use for a filling.

Clemmie,

I don't know where you are located, but what type of cake decorating store sells the sleeved filling. It is one online or a local store in your area. I thought I would like to try it.

Really appreciate any advice.

Karen
