First Wedding Cake-- Using Multiple Fillings In One Tier?
Decorating By elvis Updated 15 Aug 2006 , 7:11pm by loriemoms
Okay, I'm so new to this. I never take wedding cake orders but agreed to this one since she wants very simple design. But we were discussing fillings and neither of us really knew what we were talking about as far as using more than one filling in a cake. She said that she may want this (as in one slice of cake may have two different fillings if its a 3 layer cake)
Is this popular? If so, any ideas for fillings for chocolate cake that compliment each other? Thanks for any help!!!
I'm not sure if it's popular but maybe raspberry filling in the center tort between the two cakes and then Bavarian Cream for the outside two or vise versa. If you do the bavarian cream though, make sure you use double the sugar and vanilla and add more yolks accordinglly. Also, you will have to refrigerate the cakes so make sure you have the room for that too.
I often have requests for two fillings in one cake. Bavarian cream and strawberry are great together - that's how I do my version of cassata cake. ![]()
loriemoms ... I also use pastry bavarian cream ... my customers love it!
Mine is premade bavarian cream that I buy from my supplier. It doesn't require refrigeration and tastes great.
