Hi guys I turned on my Tv this weekend and they were shows on the style channel about cakes and flowers made by some of the top names associated with cake decorating like Ron ben Isreal and Sylvia Winestock
Intricate designs from French pastry chefs and also the Cake classic on food network was awesome..
I hope you guys watched
I cheered the decorators since I came into knowledge about cake decorating I too held my breath
and that double 0 tip(00) one lady said she used to make string work.
Talk about the countless hours they spent creating designs from ...wall paper.
I was gleeful when i saw the final products.
For those who watched what were some of the things that caught your eye? and what were some of the designs that would make you go to a DOS with some of the decorators that were there?

Hi,
I saw the Food Network special. It was amazing. I thought the stringwork was the most amazing. I'd love to know how to do that. ![]()
I watched it too! I'm going to try to remember to tape it when they replay it tomorrow night. There were so many things I loved, it's too hard to pick one thing. I really liked Earlene's cake, which she also has on her website (www.earlenescakes.com) but also loved the cakes with lots of vibrant color. The techniques were all amazing!
I saw the last part of that show....those cakes were amazing......I would love to learn how to do the stringwork as well, but realistically, the flowers would probably be better to learn first. My sweet Mother was amazed at the cakes, she had no idea that cakes could be made like that.....after watching a little while she says, you could do that....I just laughed and told her I loved her......she is my biggest supporter!! I told her maybe in ten years I can do that! ![]()
