I've noticed that when I roll out fondant for multitiered cakes i will get tiny crevices in the fondant (commercial or mmf). The first tier i cover will be fine no crevices. But then subsequent tiers will have the tiny crevices. Is this caused by my reusing the fondant that i had trimmed off the previous layer? ie trimming, rolling into a ball, and then rolling out again (on vinyl sheet) to cover the next cake.
Or should i wipe off my vinyl sheet everytime i roll out fondant to prevent any possible little fondant crumbs from causing this.

Thanks!

i havent worked with fondant much but i also have not have any crevices when i re-roll. i do wipe my surface it its rough at all so that my fondant doesnt stick to it more but that may be your problem, try it next time. i'm really not an expert at fondant so hope this helps.
