Check these out! They were awesome for transporting sheet cakes, made it so I could stack them and not worry about any squished decorations! Since my cakes are taller than most bakery boxes I always have issues with this, but these worked awesome! Just wanted to share!

I think your hubby is on to something. He could make and sell these! I know a few people would love them. He could paint them so they look finished off and even put a cake picture on the front or writting that says something about cakes.

Tell him to think about it.

You said that you have problems with most bakery boxes, what does the bakery box have to do with the wooden boxes. You still have to put them in the cardboard type bakery box, correct?

What a great idea! icon_biggrin.gif I finally convinced my DH to make me an aluminum (sheet cake) board to place my cakes on so they won't crack when transporting. He had my name etched on it and I will have to pay $30.00 if I want a mirror finish. He doesn't think I need to spend money for this type of finish but I think it will give it a professional look. I will post a picture after I have this done.

Great idea icon_biggrin.gif My mom and step dad made me some wooden cake boards that I can cover and put the cakes on. But his invention is great!!! icon_biggrin.gif If he doesn't mind his idea going out to others I to would like the directions. I have been doing alot of cakes lately and that would help with transporting alot thumbs_up.gif

that is a great idea!!
just this wknd i was thinking i'm gonna have to come up w/an idea to make a cake carrying box. something steady. I usually deliver cakes to my family only but i drive nervous thinking one will get messed up. well guess what?! the first paid cake did get a bit messed up. It was all over my son. I don't usually buy boxes for cakes cause they'll end up trashing them. So last wknd i used spring form cake pans to carry the cakes. i need something better than that. I'm gonna have to get handy and do something.

this is a great idea, if your hubby can share how he did it we'd all be greatful. My cakes are rather on the tall side and I worry about my decorations.
