Can I spread ganache over a cake, let it set and then ice over it with buttercream or will it smear?
don't know for sure, but I recall someone doing something like that and it worked ok..... not sure if it were ganache or just melted chocolates, but it gave the cake a "snap" when bit into and it was delicious..... hope you get answers......

I am making a grand marnier cake with a chocolate ganache filling for my mom's b-day this weekend.
I used the Ganache 1 recipe in the recipes section last week for the cake with the strawberries in my photos and had some left, it is a great recipe.
