1. do you use the next size up, ex: do i put a 6 inch cake on a 8 inch plate?
2> im using a 12, 8, and six. i was planning on doing the 12, then the pillars, with the 8 and 6 stacked on top, but will that make it top heavy? would i use the ten plates for that? i didnt know if i would be better off stacking the 12 and , then pillars, with the six on top.

I personally like stacking the heavier cakes at the bottom. Then using the columns to seperate the 6, especially if the cake may have to sit for awhile. If you are stacking cakes its best to use the same size board. If you are seperating them a board 2 inches larger then the tier is fairly standard. icon_smile.gif
