I only charged $80 for this christening cake for a friend of my in-laws. Just wondering how much you thinks it's worth. 14" 10" 6" marble with raspberry filling. Buttercream icing with fondant daisies. Thanks everyone!

do you have a picture of it? it would help if we could see the design and the details on it.

I think you should ahve charged more....my most recent cake that i made was a fullsheet cake...nothing really special about it, had Starburst candies on it in the shape of stars for decorations, no filling...and I had charged $67 for it, the lady gave me a check for $75 though....so IMHO I think you should have charged more, not sure how much, but more....

according to the chart i go by, that would serve about 75 party servings. i would charge about $200 for that cake.

My servings are 1x2x4 so I come up with 125 servings out of that cake (if they want party sized servings then they need to order more cake)

For one layer of filling in a two layer cake I charge $2.25/serving. Since the buttercream decorations are easy I probably wouldn't worry about adding any additional cost for the fondant flowers (I say that now, but I haven't done one like this yet)

So I would have charge $281.25 and that includes delivery within 7 miles of the center of town (pretty much city limits or a 15-20 min drive)

That is a very cute cake!

It sounds like they certainly got a lot of yummy cake for the price! And the flowers are so cute. thumbs_up.gif

Please take this as an honest observation... but I would think that the only thing that might keep you from charging very top dollar might be the lettering. To tell you the truth, though, I avoid writing on cakes at all cost because it's so hard to get it perfect!

Ultimately it's really better not to write in all caps and try to make it "artistic" so then it doesn't have to be perfect--because it's artsy.[/i]

Good point--about writing to look artsy rather than attempting perfect block letters.

That's what I would have charged! But I know on CC, I am low priced.
